NotesThe Umpqua and Yaquina River estuaries are among those coastal bays and estuaries that host seasonal populations of green sturgeon, with the population peaking in summer and autumn. While the Umpqua and Yaquina River sturgeon are not the main focus of this publication, this document does make a number of points about problems these populations face, and the need for more information. Issues include: competition from invasive species such as smallmouth bass, climate change, ocean acidification, increased stream temperatures, dredging and sedimentation.
