Notes | Fluminicola, commonly known as pebblesnails, are very small freshwater snails. Advances in genetics and molecular biology have made it possible to refine this genus. This article describes two new species of Fluminicola. Fluminicola umpquaensis lives in rapidly moving water in the Umpqua River Basin. Fluminicola fresti lives in rapidly moving water in the North Umpqua River basin, and in the upper Rogue River drainage north of Little Butte Creek. This article includes a map and photographs. |
