Notes | Brief news article. “Arrangements have been made to establish Reedsport, Ore., at the mouth of the Umpqua River, as the center for the fish business in this part of the coast. The power boat Phoenix has been put on a run to pick up fish from the small streams within 100 miles on which there are no fish canneries. Ice is to be carried to keep the fish in good condition, and it is proposed to make two trips a week, going as far north as the Alsea Bay…” |
