NotesFour dogs at Elk Creek near Elkton died. Tests confirmed that one died from exposure to anatoxin-a, a neurotoxin found in cyanobacteria, a blue-green algae. All four dogs were presumed to have died from exposure to anatoxin-a. "State public health officials had earlier found evidence of the algae in several spots on Elk Creek near its confluence with the Umpqua River."
