NotesDeep pools serve as thermal refugia for fish, especially in summer. Availability of cool pools "could be a limiting factor for adult summer steelhead." (p.63) This study found that Steamboat Creek has a "fragmented pattern of suitable habitat" with both cool, deep pools and "warm corridors." (p.68)
