Notes | "Surveys in Umpqua Bay revealed an increase in clam abundance over the 1965 surveys. . . It was noted in the 1965 survey that much silt and organic debris was on the clam beds. The 1966 report notes that this silt and debris overlay has firmed up and counting was much easier than in 1965. Substantial numbers of clams were probably present in 1965; however, their presence was probably masked by the silt-debris deposition from the 1964-65 floods." (p.6-7) |
