NotesThis Master’s thesis covers the area from the south bank of the Siuslaw River to the north Bank of the Umpqua River, ocean to inland coastal forests. It includes detailed accounts of species encountered. There is an interesting discussion of the little-known introduction of Alaskan moose just north of the mouth of the Umpqua River in 1923. A good look at the variety of life in the “coastal strip” before development really got going. The major professor was Kenneth L. Gordon.
