Notes | This is a brief news announcement. “Two companies have recently been incorporated to fish for salmon on an extensive scale and ship them from the Umpqua River after the Willamette-Pacific railway is completed and in operation. . . It is the intention of both companies to ship salmon to outside points to in carload lots and to erect cold storage plants in Gardiner and Reedsport. They will also ship crabs, clams and other sea fish.” The companies were the Umpqua Fishing, Storage & Supply and the Reedsport Fishing, Storage & Supply. Gives names of partners and start-up funding. |
