Notes | This dissertation is concerned with Native American fishing techniques, especially fishing weirs, on the Oregon Coast. Focuses on Coquille River and Yaquina Bay sites. It does include a good discussion of Umpqua River Native American food sources and fishing methods. No weirs were identified in a 1995 fishing survey, but the author notes that many net fishing weights have been found in the Umpqua. (p.206). |
