NotesIn 1954, Diamond Lake was "the scene of the largest fish eradication project ever attempted in modern fishery management." In an effort to exterminate the population of "trash" fish in the lake, the lake level was lowered in the summer of 1954, and the lake was dusted with rotenone in September, 1956. This article describes the process and the high hopes the Game Commission had for the project. The article includes a bathymetric map of Diamond Lake, and numerous bw photographs.
